FAQs

Classes

What type of students are Metro Writing classes designed for?
We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and classes at Metro Writing are for anyone who is interested in writing. Our workshops are small and welcoming, and we believe that both beginning writers and those with more experience can learn from one another.

What if I've never written anything before?
Even if you've never written formally before, you're more than welcome to join a workshop. Our introductory courses are perfect for those wanting to explore writing -- and our longer workshops are ideal for writers who want to further improve their skills.

Registration

How soon do I need to register to guarantee my spot in a class?
You must register and pay in full one week before the class begins. If you are unsure whether you'll be able to attend, you may pre-register at no cost by contacting us by phone or at writing@metrowriting.com. We will hold your spot until approximately one week before the class start date, when payment is due. If the class fills quickly, you may be asked to pay sooner in order to guarantee your spot in the workshop.

What if the class I want to take is already full?
To ensure a quality workshop experience for all students, our class size is limited. If the class you want to take is full, we will add you to the waiting list. You will be contacted approximately one week before the class start date if space becomes available.

What if my class gets cancelled?
Workshop dates and times subject to change, and we reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment or other unforeseen events. If your class is cancelled and you've already paid, you will be issued a full refund, or a credit toward another class or service at Metro Writing.

What if I've registered for a class but cannot attend?
If you must withdraw from a class before the start date, you will be issued a full refund, minus a $15 processing fee, or a credit for equivalent Metro Writing classes or services. We're sorry, but we cannot issue refunds once a workshop begins.

Can I purchase a course or service for someone else?
Yes, we offer gift certificates for all our classes and services. Please call or e-mail writing@metrowriting.com for more information.
