For information on the next starting date of this course, please sign up for METRO, our free newsletter, and we'll send you an announcement. Thank you!

This class is for students who have experience writing fiction and want to take their work to the next level. While brushing up on the fundamentals of good fiction writing, we'll delve deeper into such areas as language, style, and voice. In an intensive workshop setting, students will set and work toward tangible goals for completing stories or novel chapters and receive feedback on their projects.

Classes will reinforce such elements of fiction as character, dialogue, plot, and setting -- and go beyond to incorporate language, style, polishing, and publication. Students will have the opportunity to share their work, through writing exercises and by workshopping works in progress.

In this class, you will:
  • take your writing to a higher level
  • learn tips for editing and polishing your work
  • learn how to submit stories and manuscripts
  • receive detailed feedback from the instructor and fellow writers
  • continue and/or revise a short story or novel
